Splitboards & Backcountry Gear – For Climbing and Riding

Splitboarding is the activity you need if you want to explore inaccessible landscapes with untouched slopes, far from the tourist crowds of resorts. This practice paves the way to exploring the best alpine spots, offering access to incredible places to experience perhaps the best freeride runs of your life!

The Concept of the Splitboard

Based on the same principle as ski touring, the splitboard is a snowboard cut lengthwise into two or three parts, used like skis. The board is equipped with assembly clips to join the splitboard into a single piece during descents or to divide it into two parts during ascents. The specially designed Karakoram bindings must be chosen carefully, accompanied by crampons or "knives" to prevent slipping during the climb. A pair of climbing skins under the soles ensures perfect grip during effort, and poles are essential during your ascents.
