A 4/3 hooded wetsuit for surfing in cold water

When the temperature drops, staying warm without sacrificing mobility becomes essential. The Patagonia Regulator® 4/3 Hooded combines protective thickness with a completely redesigned fit that naturally follows the surfer's movements.

The body features a thickness of 4mm, while the sleeves and hood are 3mm to maintain even more flexibility. This construction makes it easier to paddle, pop up, and link maneuvers with fewer restrictions.

With its integrated hood, this wetsuit is especially suited to long winter sessions and waters between 10 and 15°C.

Yulex® technology: an alternative to traditional neoprene

This Patagonia wetsuit is designed around a stretch material made from 85% Yulex® natural rubber, combined with 15% chlorine-free treated synthetic rubber.

The natural rubber comes from certified sources FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) by Preferred by Nature™. A design that allows Patagonia to offer a technical wetsuit without traditional neoprene, while keeping the performance qualities surfers look for: thermal insulation, flexibility and durability.

NetPlus® lining made from recycled fishing nets

Patagonia also pushes the use of recycled materials into the construction of its wetsuit. The inner and outer materials use post-consumer recycled NetPlus® nylon, made from recycled fishing nets.

The materials are also solution-dyed, a process that requires no water during this coloring stage.

At the chest, back and hood, a thermal-embossed lining helps boost comfort during cold-water sessions.

U-Zip: easier to get on, more effective in the water

Originally developed by AXXE Wetsuits and then refined by Patagonia, the U-Zip makes getting into the wetsuit easier while limiting water entry.

Its size 5 stretch coil mesh YKK® zip keeps excellent stretch and features a large pull tab that’s easy to grab. A welcome detail when your fingers are already starting to feel the cold before you’ve even hit the water.

Finishes designed to retain heat

A high-performance wetsuit is not just about thickness. Patagonia therefore pays special attention to waterproofing and sensitive areas.

The seams are invisible, reinforced with three dots of glue then sealed on the inside with a stretch tape. The rubber seals at the wrists and ankles improve the fit and make the wetsuit easier to put on and take off.
